This past March, Paul, Abe and I (Brian Jr.) headed down to the Dominican Republic to check up on our Cocinero cigars and meet with some of the Dominican tobacco heavyweights.
While we were there we saw a Cock Fight (I can see why these are illegal in the United States), ate at some local hangouts (the Presidente beer comes nicely frost and in gallon jugs) and toured the city of Santiago and its outskirts.
Here are some pictures of our time in the Dominican and the sites we saw. We can’t wait to get some of our www.Tinderbox.com customers down there with us to enjoy the warm weather and great cigars too!

Tinderbox.com’s buyer, Abe, is from the tiny town of Bonai in the Dominican Republic. In February of 2007 Abe headed back home to visit his family, make some business deals with Fuente and La Flor Dominicana and, of course, smoke some great cigars.
The following photo album shows some photos of Abe hanging out with his family in Bonai. Look out for Abe’s grandfather enjoying his pipe and cutting his own pipe tobacco. Although no one is certain of his actual age, everyone claims that Abe’s grandfather is 104 years old and going strong! He’s been smoking cigars and pipes since he was 10 years old. That’s 94 years of smoking great tobacco in the heart of the Dominican Republic! |
