The Arturo Fuente Añejo is one of the most anticipated annual releases in the cigar world. Launched each year around the holidays, the Añejo features a Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper that's been aged in cognac barrels — a process that imparts a distinctive richness, sweetness, and round body to the smoke. Pair that with Dominican binder and filler from the Fuente family's own farms, and the result is a cigar that's powerful, sweet, and unmistakably special.
The Añejo lineup is built around the Reserva system — Reserva No. 77 (the Shark, a 7 x 54 torpedo), No. 50 (a 7 x 50 Pyramid), No. 46 (Robusto Extra), No. 49 (Toro), and the smaller No. 55 and No. 60 vitolas. Of these, the No. 77 Shark is the hardest to find and routinely commands secondary-market premiums when it sells out.
Allocations are strictly limited. Tinder Box receives Añejo allocations annually and stocks them for as long as they last — which is typically not very long.
