Our Story
The Tinder Box name has been part of the American tobacconist tradition for generations, and the Haverford store carries that tradition forward today. Located on West Lancaster Avenue in the heart of the Main Line, Tinder Box Haverford is run by Rob Blumenthal alongside a team of experienced tobacconists who know cigars and pipe tobacco the way customers expect from a real tobacconist shop.
We carry the brands that the cigar and pipe community actually buys — both heritage names and the boutique blenders pushing the craft forward. We sell online to customers across the United States, and we welcome walk-in customers to the Haverford shop Monday through Saturday.

Our exclusive pipe tobacco line includes 22 unique blends — Wilshire, Crown Royale, Sunset, Peach Dulce, Black Russian, Honey Cavendish, Captain Spice, Rum Runner, Norse Gold, and others. Each is blended specifically for Tinder Box and has been a part of our pipe tobacco catalog for years.
Boutique cigar specialists. We carry hard-to-find releases from boutique blenders most retailers don't — Privada Cigar Club, Ezra Zion, Lost & Found, Caldwell, Warped, Foundation, Apostate, J. London, Crowned Heads, and many more. New limited editions and small-batch releases arrive regularly.
Italian briar pipes. We are one of the few American retailers carrying a deep selection of hand-carved Italian briar pipes — Ascorti from Cucciago, La Rocca, and others. Each pipe is unique. Once one is sold, it is gone.
