The Padron Family Reserve is the rarest of Padron's regular production lines — each release commemorates a milestone in the Padron family, with the number on the band corresponding to a family member's birthday or anniversary. The No. 85 marks the 85th birthday of José O. Padron Sr.; the No. 95 marks his 95th; the No. 96 commemorates the company's founding year. Each release is produced in limited quantities, with the longest aging in the Padron catalog before it leaves the factory.
Family Reserve cigars are box-pressed, 100% Nicaraguan, and made from tobacco that's been aged a minimum of 10 years — the longest pre-rolling age of any Padron production line. The result is a smoke of remarkable depth, sweetness, and balance, with profiles that lean rich and layered: dark chocolate, cedar, espresso, dried fruit, baking spice, and a finish that lingers far longer than any cigar at this price point should.
If you've smoked Padron 1964 and 1926 and want to know what the next step looks like, this is it.
