Cavalier Genève has rebuilt its Small Batch program from the ground up for 2026 — reduced to just two restricted-production releases per year, built around a reworked blend and a renewed focus on the skill of the rollers.
The Small Batch Lancero is the first of that pair. Founder Sebastien Decoppet described the overhaul as a return to basics: previous Small Batch releases (White Series Lancero, White Series Salomon, Black II Lancero, Black II Salomon) have been retired, and the program moves to a single Lancero and a single Salomon each year, both treated as limited-production craftsmanship pieces rather than ongoing catalog items.
The 2026 Lancero carries a blend built on the DNA of the beloved White Series but reworked for this new chapter. A Honduran Jamastran wrapper covers a Jalapa binder, with a filler blend drawing on Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí, Ometepe, and Jalapa, plus Paraguayan leaf. The result is a Lancero with the Cavalier house signature — Honduran backbone with Nicaraguan complexity — in the long, lean format that puts the wrapper leaf front and center.

Why the Lancero Shape Matters
A Lancero is the connoisseur's shape — long, thin, and heavily dependent on the wrapper leaf for its character. The low wrapper-to-filler ratio puts the Jamastran leaf front and center with every draw, which is exactly why Cavalier chose this format for the Small Batch program's return. Master blenders traditionally reserve their best wrappers for Lanceros, because there is nowhere for a mediocre leaf to hide in a 7-inch, thin-ring smoke.
