Cornell & Diehl Milk & Honey (Halav U' Duash) is the Hebraica Series' most approachable blend — a mild, naturally sweet aromatic built on black and red Virginia Cavendish, with rough-cut Burley, Dark-Fired Kentucky, Middle Eastern Oriental and 100% St. James Perique woven in.
The Hebraica Series started as a personal favor. C&D founder William Serad was friends with Rabbi Ira Stone, who loved Burley, Oriental and Perique mixtures and asked Serad to blend some for him. The resulting line became Hebraica — each blend named by Stone himself, drawing from the language and spirituality of Jewish tradition. Halav U' Duash means “milk and honey” in Hebrew, a reference to the biblical description of the Promised Land as “a land flowing with milk and honey.” The Perique in every C&D blend, including this one, has been 100% St. James Perique from 31 Farms since C&D's exclusive 2022 partnership — the only Perique still grown traditionally in Louisiana's St. James Parish.

Tasting Profile: The tin opens softly — natural tobacco sweetness, a honey-adjacent note, and a faint Oriental spice underneath. On the burn, the blend changes as it goes. First third: Cavendish sweetness forward, with a surprising coffee note; Burley carries nutty body. Middle third: Dark-Fired Kentucky brings its smoky depth and Perique adds whispers of plum and pepper. Last third: Red Virginia takes over with natural sweetness, Orientals thread dry spice through the finish. Milder than most aromatics in both strength and sweetness, but with enough character to satisfy VaPer smokers and Burley smokers who don't usually reach for aromatics.
