Creekside Cigar Co. — the Cincinnati-based retailer known for its outsized presence on social media — has launched its own cigar brand: Queen of the West. The debut release, Queen of the West Bel D'oro, arrives in a single 6 × 48 toro vitola and marks Creekside's first foray into house-branded cigar production.
Blended and rolled at Tabacalera La iSLA in the Dominican Republic, the Bel D'oro pairs an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed desflorado wrapper with a Connecticut broadleaf binder over a filler blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and U.S. tobaccos. The desflorado wrapper — a Connecticut-seed leaf grown in Ecuador that's had its flowers removed during growth to concentrate flavor in the leaves — sits atop a broadleaf binder that adds a touch of sweetness, while the three-country filler brings depth and complexity across the burn.
