Ezra Zion Giant Slayer is a boutique limited release from one of the most talked-about small-batch cigar makers in the U.S. — a full-bodied, medium-to-full-strength 6.75 × 54 box-pressed Short Churchill built around tobaccos so rare and so well-aged they read more like collector pieces than production blend components.
The wrapper is a 12-year-aged Sumatra Maduro leaf — dark, oily, and unmistakable. The binder and filler tobaccos remain a closely guarded Ezra Zion secret, but every leaf in the blend has been aged between 5 and 14 years. The result is a slow-burning, deeply layered smoke that rewards an unhurried hour.
Profile
Full-bodied with medium-to-full strength. A complex, evolving smoke with a long, lingering finish — built for experienced palates that appreciate aged tobacco and box-pressed construction.
Tasting Notes
First third: Dark chocolate, espresso bean, black peppercorn, and rich toffee, with secondary notes of red oak, roasted cashews, aged leather, and bourbon. Clove and butter linger on the finish; the retrohale carries a sharp cinnamon heat that lifts the whole draw.
Second third: Semi-sweet chocolate chips, Madagascar vanilla bean, and toasted hazelnut emerge as the cigar settles.
Final third: Spiced rum and cedar take over, leaving a long, evolving finish that lingers well past the last draw.
