Peterson Donegal Rocky Fishtail (265) is a rare oval-shanked Billiard in the Irish marque's most storied rusticated finish — Peterson's first rustication, in continuous production since 1945, with a craggy two-toned stain and a bright nickel band.
Named after County Donegal in northwest Ireland — a landscape of weathered mountains and rocky coasts — the Donegal Rocky series is Peterson's first rusticated line, dating back to 1945. The series' craggy texture and two-toned, red-tinged stain have become synonymous with Peterson rustication; the finish is inspired by the mountainous region it's named for. Part of Peterson's Classic range: non-System pipes made for the everyday smoker. Donegal Rocky pipes are rugged workhorse smokers that develop beautifully with time in the hand.
Offered here in the uncommon “265” — a Billiard bowl paired to an oval shank, closer in silhouette to a traditional English Canadian but with a shorter shank than Peterson's 264. The 265 forgoes the Irish marque's typically bold and muscular proportions in favor of a sleeker, more streamlined profile. A less-often-seen shape from Peterson's chart, well-suited to smokers who prefer trimmer designs.
