An experimental wrapper that will likely never be grown again.
An Ecuadorian grower crossed Habano and Sumatra seed on an experimental plot, producing a distinctive leaf unlike either parent. There wasn't enough of it to support a permanent brand, so most manufacturers passed on it. Privada didn't.
That hybrid wrapper was paired with a Dominican Cibao binder and fillers from Peru, Costa Rica and Nicaragua, then the finished cigars were laid down for a full two years before release. Buying the wrapper at the right price meant real savings could be passed along — an exceptional, surprising cigar priced better than it has any right to be.
Once this run is gone, it's gone. The wrapper was experimental and limited, and it likely won't be planted again.
